Youth Ministries Coordinator
Luke DeMoss, Youth Ministries Coordinator – Some interesting facts about Luke:

Where were you born?
Williamsburg, Virginia

Who is in your immediate family and what one word would you use to describe each of them? Wife, Sarah-Generous, Dad, Jim-Provider, Mom, Terry-Caring, Brother, Brian- Hard Working, Brother, Brad- Adaptable

Who was the most influential person in your life?
My father.  Not only did he raise me in a house full of hard work and love, he also filled it with music.  I truly believe my dad had more influence in making me the man I am today than anybody else.

 What’s your favorite…
Movie? I love horror movies. Especially the old 70’s and 80’s horror movies and my favorite are the Evil Dead movies.

TV Show? Hands down the Simpsons!  I can pretty much relate any life event to a Simpson’s episode.

Music/Band? I love all kinds of music.  Everything from hard rock, to hip hop, country to classical.  And everything in between!  311 has always been, and always will be my favorite band of all time.

What book do you think everyone should read?
“Save me from Myself” By Brian ‘Head’ Welch.  He is the guitar player from the band Korn and this book is his biography.  And basically it chronicles the rise of his band and his personal spiral into darkness and drug addiction.  He eventually became saved and even brought other members of the band to Christ.  It’s a very powerful story and its even more touching if you are a Christian musician like myself.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A rockstar! Haha, in all seriousness though, I’ve always wanted to find a way to make a living by playing music. I have always played in bands and I would love to be able to earn enough income doing so to support my family.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spending time with my wife, watching movies, playing video games and of course writing and playing music.

If you could go back in time when you were 15 yrs old, what advice would you give yourself?
Don’t waste your time on the stuff that isn’t important.  At that age, I wasted far to much time on silly stuff and looking back on it, I could have used that more time to be much more productive in getting ready for my future.

What is your best memory of childhood?
When I was about 3 or 4, I would go see my dad perform in his show bands.  I had a plastic guitar that I would bounce around the dance floor with pretending I was playing.  Pretty sure this was all foreshadowing because now all I ever want to do is bounce around with a guitar in my hands!

If you could have any super-power what would you choose & what would your Superhero name be?
I would want to be able to Fly. And my superhero name could be Captain Awesome!

Are you an Introvert or Extrovert?
Extrovert…Big time!

What quote sums up your philosophy of life?
“Stay Positive and Love Your Life.”  Nick Hexum, 311.
