Prayer
Prayer Ministry Essential to the foundation of Gate City is our prayer ministry. We feel mandated by God to be a place of prayer and refuge. Prayer is the way that we connect with God and something else happens when we pray: God’s supernatural power is released into real-life situations. When we agree in prayer, change happens. As Christ-followers, we want to grow in our relationship with God through prayer. It is our privilege and honor to pray for you.
Pre-Service Prayer
Each Sunday morning we join together in prayer from 9:30 – 10:15am. We pray for the needs that people have turned in to us, and we invite God’s presence to be with us during our service. Even if you can only be with us for a few minutes of our pre-service prayer time, we invite anyone to join us. We gather in the prayer room located in the center of the building.
Sundays 9:30 a.m. – 10:35 a.m.
Join us before service to pray for our service, body, pastor, leaders, and our community.

Intercessory Prayer
The women in our body meet the 2nd and 4th Thursdays for Intercessory prayer. Intercessory prayer is a conversation or petition made for the benefit of others. It is seeking God’s presence in the life of those you are praying for on their behalf. When we pray for the needs of others it is called intercession or interceding for them.
1 Timothy 2:1-6 states: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. “
Vision Statement: Intercessors at GCV believe that God has given us compassion to pray and directly intercede for others. As an intercessor we trust God’s perfect will to be done and are willing to stand in the gap for others. As intercessors we stay in constant communication with God and have a heart for God’s people remembering that prayer changes people, places, and things; because we are completely and totally dependent on God to move.
